A collection of words by Harrison Moore inspired by hardship and suffering
I hate living in this land of lewdness
Where every sign and song plagues the mind
Around all the corners lie awful rudeness
From this sinful realm I wish to climb
I long for a day like the old eden story
Where I can finally relax and be free
Oh for that sweet sweet land of glory
Lord bring the day where I am is with me
I know this life and it’s many blessings
Some days are filled with joy and grace
But often twisted by the devil’s messings
As he distracts us from our savior’s face
When Lucifer prowls ready to devour
It seems there’s one thing he’s forgot
My God watching over as a fortified tower
Ready to squash him like a little spot
My redeemer works to keep me straight
When by life’s road I’m coaxed to stray
So easy it is to forget the pearly gates
By faith I’ll press on for that triumphant day
No eye has seen no ear has heard
Of the many mansions above
Yet we know one thing sure from his holy word
All he made was from pure love
So let the weight of sin and shame
Be lifted off the saints
Let them live for the only name
And praise him without restraint
I hate living in this land of lewdness
Where every sign and song plagues the mind
Around all the corners lie awful rudeness
From this sinful realm I wish to climb
Indeed I crave the streets of gold
Where beauty is everywhere you look
A land where believers are mighty bold
And the prized possession is his infallible book
When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Said one wise writer in his hymn
We’ve no less days to sing and cheer
All glory and honor to him
I can only imagine what that day will be like
My eyes are accustomed to this wicked earth
I pray that we’ll meet without any fright
And finally see our eternal worth
I long for the day like the old eden story
Where I can finally relax and be free
Oh for that sweet sweet land of glory
Lord bring the day where I am is with me
